About Lauren Streicher, M.D.

Lauren Streicher, MD is an Associate Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University’s medical school, The Feinberg School of Medicine and the medical director of Northwestern Medicine's Center for Sexual Medicine and Menopause.  She has devoted her career to the belief that women should be given the most comprehensive, up-to-date information, in order to make the best heath care decisions for themselves. To that end, in addition to her clinical practice and teaching activities, Dr. Streicher dedicates her time to educating women through consumer publications, media and personal appearances.

Dr. Streicher appears regularly on WGN News, Chicago's most popular morning news show, and is a frequent guest on such national TV talk shows as The Steve Harvey Show, The Dr. Oz Show, The Steve Harvey Show, The Today Show and Good Morning America. In addition to her many television and radio appearances, Dr. Streicher is a regular contributor to such national magazine publications as Glamour, Cosmo, Oprah! As an author, Dr. Streicher’s first publication, The Essential Guide to Hysterectomy (Littlefield & Rowe) remains the definitive consumer guide to the complexities of this common procedure, and her latest book, Sex Rx-Hormones, Health and Your Best Sex Ever (HarperCollins) is the first and only comprehensive sexual health book for women of all ages.

Dr. Streicher is board certified by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a member of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, The International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health, The Scientific Network on Female Sexual Health and Cancer and is a Certified Menopause Practitioner of The North American Menopause Society.

Dr. Streicher serves on the boards of Chicago’s famed Joffrey Ballet and Personal PAC, a bi-partisan political action committee dedicated to electing pro-choice candidates in Illinois. She is married to theater, film and television writer-producer, Jason Brett.
